Weezer releases new music, announces Tampa concert with Panic! at the Disco

Weezer is set to play a show in Tampa for the first time since 2005.

The band will perform at the MidFlorida Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds on June 15 along with Panic! at the Disco and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness.

Earlier this week, Weezer released its first new track since 2014, the single “King of the World,” and announced that its new, self-titled album, aka “The White Album,” will come out on April 1.

Weezer has performed in the Tampa Bay area in recent years, most recently at St. Petersburg’s Mahaffey Theater in 2012, and Tropicana Field in 2014, but hasn’t stopped in Tampa since 2005’s “Foozer” tour with the Foo Fighters at Amalie Arena.

Tickets, priced at $25 and $75, go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. through Livenation.com, though various pre-sales begin Tuesday. More information on how to participate in those is available through the website.
