About This Release

Vanguard 05/35 offers an excellent snapshot of the U.S. radio landscape in early September 2005. Like many Radio Ventures promotional releases, this compilation brings together a wide variety of formats on a single disc, providing radio programmers with new music from major and independent labels.

The playlist reflects the diversity of American radio at the time, featuring Top 40, Hot AC, Adult Contemporary, Adult Album Alternative (AAA), Alternative Rock, Active Rock, Urban/R&B, and Contemporary Christian artists.

Among the most recognizable names are Frankie J, Jesse McCartney, Robert Plant, Queen + Paul Rodgers, Tina Turner, Herbie Hancock featuring John Mayer, The Wallflowers, and The Decemberists, alongside emerging artists who were receiving radio promotion during the period.

The disc contains 18 tracks, with 11 songs ending cold and 7 ending with a fade, making it a practical promotional tool for music directors and on-air personalities. Several tracks also feature long instrumental intros, allowing additional flexibility for radio presentation and live announcing.
