Chart Week: October 4, 2026
Great music has a wonderful way of finding us when we least expect it! Welcome to Week 39 of MY TOP 30, my personal countdown celebrating the thirty songs that have captured my imagination, touched my heart, and made their way into my favorite playlists. This week’s selection is a fascinating journey through Scandinavian pop, indie discoveries, contemporary country, electronic sounds, and some of the most recognizable voices in international music. With seven brand-new entries, several artists enjoying multiple appearances, and a sensational debut at the very top, there’s plenty to discover. But which song will take the crown?
Our musical journey begins at #30 with Australian psychedelic-pop project Tame Impala, making a new entry with Loser. At #29, American superstar Miley Cyrus joins the countdown with Bass Persuades, bringing another recognizable voice to this eclectic selection. Just above, Kimo Sounds debuts at #28 with Rise Slow, while Swedish indie-folk group Crying Day Care Choir arrives at #27 with the wonderfully unconventional Fuck It I’m A Flower. Four consecutive new entries immediately demonstrate the variety of musical styles represented in this week’s countdown.
At #26, rising Slovak singer ADÉLA makes her debut with Ain’t In LA, introducing another exciting contemporary pop discovery. At #25, Olivia Rodrigo appears with Drop Dead, while fellow American pop star Taylor Swift enters at #24 with Patient Zero. At #23, soulful vocalist Teddy Swims brings his distinctive voice to Mr. Know It All. From emerging international performers to established chart favorites, this section offers an appealing mix of personalities and sounds.
At #22, global girl group KATSEYE continues its presence with Animal, now spending its second week on my chart. American country singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves follows at #21 with Dry Spell, adding a gentle country influence to this week’s musical landscape. At #20, Gracie Abrams makes her first appearance of the countdown with Look At My Life, while country star Ella Langley occupies #19 with Choosin’ Texas. The presence of these songs highlights how contemporary country and intimate singer-songwriter music can comfortably coexist with modern international pop.
One of the most interesting electronic discoveries appears at #18, where Imael Angel continues his journey with Bad Times, now in its fourth week on the chart. At #17, South Korean producer Peggy Gou joins forces with Nigerian singer Ayra Starr on Wo,man, adding a vibrant international collaboration to the selection. Meanwhile, rising artist sombr occupies #16 with My Body Isn’t Ready. At #15, Gracie Abrams returns for her second appearance with Hit the Wall, securing two songs among my current favorites.
At #14, Swedish duo Långbacka/Bådagård present Wake Us Up, bringing another distinctive Scandinavian contribution to the countdown. Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun follows at #13 with Hold Me, celebrating its second week on the chart. Known for her expressive voice and emotionally rich performances, Ane brings a sophisticated and intimate atmosphere to the selection. Her presence here is only the beginning, because another of her songs is waiting much higher in this week’s ranking.
At #12, Colombian superstar Karol G joins forces with Bruno Mars on Still, combining two internationally recognized names in one collaboration. Just ahead, Tame Impala makes a second appearance at #11 with Dracula (Jennie Remix), featuring South Korean star JENNIE. The combination of alternative psychedelic influences and contemporary pop gives this section an especially interesting musical contrast. And with two Tame Impala recordings in the countdown, the Australian project is clearly enjoying a strong presence among my current listening choices.
The Top 10 begins at #10 with rising British singer-songwriter Sienna Spiro and Material Lover, adding another expressive young voice to this week’s selection. At #9, British-Brazilian artist Liana Flores brings her delicate musical sensibility to Silvershoes. At #8, Russian rapper Баста (Basta) collaborates with indie-pop group Моя Мишель (Moya Mishel) on Если я буду танцевать (If I Dance). The Russian-language recording reinforces one of my favorite aspects of exploring music: discovering beautiful melodies and distinctive artists beyond linguistic and geographical boundaries.
At #7, Swedish singer Amanda Jenssen makes her first Top 10 appearance with A 1000 Wildcat’s Cry. Amanda has occupied a special place in my musical universe since I first discovered her recordings back in 2007. After a lengthy absence from the music scene, her return has become one of my favorite musical stories of recent years. At #6, another Scandinavian favorite, Ane Brun, makes her second appearance with Two in This Story, an emotionally captivating song that demonstrates why her distinctive voice continues to resonate so strongly with me.
Breaking into the Top 5 at #5, STELLA LEFTY delivers Boston, another intriguing contemporary discovery. At #4, British pop superstar Harry Styles makes his presence felt with American Girls, while Swedish singer Amanda Jenssen returns at #3 with Pretty World. Having two songs among the seven highest positions is an impressive achievement for Amanda, whose unmistakable style continues to bridge the gap between classic musical influences and contemporary alternative pop.
The runner-up position belongs to HUGEL, whose Movin’ To The Sun takes #2 this week. Its energetic electronic production brings a welcome change of atmosphere to the upper reaches of a chart otherwise dominated by expressive singers and melodic pop arrangements. With Amanda Jenssen at #3, Harry Styles at #4, and Ane Brun at #6, the competition among my current favorites is certainly diverse. But this week’s winner has something especially remarkable to celebrate: a brand-new entry arriving directly at the summit!
And finally, what an extraordinary entrance! American singer-songwriter Ashe makes a sensational debut straight at #1 with Stop the Wedding!, claiming the crown in her very first week on the chart! With its memorable melodic character, theatrical emotion, and captivating vocal performance, the song has immediately become my favorite of the moment. It’s exactly the kind of discovery that makes maintaining a personal music chart so rewarding: sometimes a song slowly grows on you, while others make an unforgettable impression from the very beginning. Congratulations to Ashe on this spectacular number-one debut! Will she hold on to the crown next week, or will another favorite rise to challenge her? Thank you for joining me on this musical journey, and don’t forget to share your personal favorite in the comments. See you next week on MY TOP 30, exclusively on José Araujo International!
