Chart Week: October 11, 2026
Welcome to a new edition of My Weekly Top 30, a personal journey through the songs that have captured my attention, inspired me, and found their way into my favorite playlists. Unlike traditional charts based on radio airplay, streaming figures, or sales, this countdown is guided entirely by personal taste. From Scandinavian pop and alternative sounds to electronic music and emerging international talents, this week’s selection brings together established favorites, exciting discoveries, and six brand-new entries. But which song will claim the coveted number-one position?
We begin our countdown with three fresh arrivals. At #30, Filipino-British indie artist beabadoobee enters with Memories, followed by Norwegian singer DELARA and Sjelen at #29. Swedish vocalist Sanna Nielsen makes her debut at #28 with What Love Is, adding another Scandinavian voice to this week’s lineup. Just above them, American psychedelic-pop artist Tame Impala climbs four places to #26 with Loser, while Kimo Sounds moves from #28 to #25 with Rise Slow.
Another Swedish favorite joins the countdown at #24, as Petra Marklund debuts with Mitt Hjärta En Rebell. The Swedish-language title adds to the international character of this week’s selection. At #23, Crying Day Care Choir climbs four places with the wonderfully titled Fuck It I’m A Flower, while rising British singer Sekou makes his first appearance at #22 with Dangerous Lover. Completing this section is American country-pop singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves, whose Dry Spell occupies the #21 position.
At #20, South Korean DJ and producer Peggy Gou, alongside Ayra Starr, delivers the infectious Wo,man, slipping three places from last week. Meanwhile, ADÉLA makes an impressive leap from #26 to #19 with Ain’t In LA. Global girl group KATSEYE also continues its upward momentum, climbing four places to #18 with Animal. Two familiar names remain steady just above them: sombr holds #17 with My Body Isn’t Ready, while Gracie Abrams stays at #16 with Hit the Wall.
The middle of our countdown brings together some of contemporary pop’s most recognizable names. At #15, Tame Impala returns for a second appearance, this time alongside JENNIE on Dracula (Jennie Remix), down four places. Harry Styles experiences one of the week’s sharpest declines, as American Girls falls ten positions from #4 to #14. Meanwhile, Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun makes her first appearance of the week at #13 with Hold Me, holding steady for another week.
At #12, British-Brazilian singer-songwriter Liana Flores offers the delicate and atmospheric Silvershoes, slipping three positions. Just ahead, STELLA LEFTY drops from #5 to #11 with Boston. Although both songs have lost some ground, they remain part of a selection that celebrates distinctive voices, intimate melodies, and artists who bring their own personality to contemporary music.
The Top 10 begins with a welcome Scandinavian discovery. At #10, Swedish duo Långbacka/Bådagård climb four places with Wake Us Up, bringing their distinctive musical approach into the upper reaches of the chart. At #9, Karol G and Bruno Mars rise three positions with Still, while Swedish singer Amanda Jenssen holds another strong position at #8 with A 1000 Wildcats’ Cry, slipping just one place.
At #7, rising British singer Sienna Spiro climbs from #10 with Material Lover, continuing her presence among my current favorites. One place higher, Russian rapper Баста (Basta) joins forces with indie-pop group Моя Мишель (Moya Mishel) on Если я буду танцевать, moving from #8 to #6. Its presence is another reminder that great music knows no language barriers, and that some of the most interesting discoveries come from exploring scenes beyond the English-speaking world.
This week’s biggest climb belongs to Imael Angel, whose Bad Times jumps an incredible thirteen places, from #18 all the way to #5. It is a remarkable breakthrough and one of the countdown’s most exciting developments. With electronic music already enjoying a strong presence in this week’s selection, could another dance-oriented track be waiting among the final positions?
At #4, Amanda Jenssen makes her second Top 10 appearance with Pretty World, down just one place. The Swedish singer’s musical return has been particularly meaningful to me. I first discovered her music back in 2007, and her songs remained part of my personal charts for several years. After a long absence, she returned to my musical world, with RANSOMS becoming one of my biggest favorites of 2025. Now, nearly two decades after that first discovery, she continues to hold a special place in my weekly countdown.
We have reached the final three! At #3, HUGEL slips one position with Movin’ To The Sun, keeping its irresistible electronic energy near the top. Meanwhile, American singer-songwriter Ashe, who led last week’s chart, moves down to #2 with Stop the Wedding!. After spending time at the summit, she remains one of the strongest contenders in my current personal playlist. But her departure from the top spot means a new chart-topper is about to be crowned!
And finally, the moment we’ve been waiting for! Climbing five places from #6 to #1, Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun takes the crown with the beautiful Two in This Story! With her unmistakable voice, emotional depth, and elegant musical sensitivity, Ane delivers a song that has become one of my most treasured discoveries. Her rise to the summit perfectly captures the spirit of this chart: a celebration of music that connects on a personal level, regardless of commercial popularity. Congratulations to Ane Brun on reaching number one! Join me next week for more discoveries, unexpected movements, and another journey through my thirty favorite songs.
