Chart Week: October 25, 2026
Some songs capture your attention immediately, while others slowly find their way into your heart until they become impossible to ignore. Welcome to Week 42 of MY TOP 30, my personal countdown celebrating the music that means the most to me right now! This edition brings one of the most spectacular climbs of the year, four exciting new entries, two incredible Top 5 debuts, and an extraordinary achievement for one of Norway’s most distinctive voices. From Scandinavian indie pop and acoustic melodies to electronic sounds, international collaborations, and returning pop legends, this week’s chart has something for every curious music lover. And at the very top, an emotional new favorite is waiting to be crowned!
We begin at #30, where sombr slips five places with My Body Isn’t Ready. British-Brazilian singer-songwriter Liana Flores experiences the week’s biggest decline, falling fourteen positions to #29 with the delicate Silvershoes. At #28, global superstar Taylor Swift makes a brand-new entry with Patient Zero, adding another major pop name to this week’s selection. Meanwhile, rising British singer Sekou moves down four places to #27 with Dangerous Lover, maintaining his presence after last week’s debut.
At #26, American country-pop singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves drops two positions with Dry Spell, while Swedish vocalist Sanna Nielsen climbs one place to #25 with What Love Is. One position higher, German dance-pop icon Blümchen continues her comeback on my personal chart, climbing four places to #24 with 90s Icon. For those who remember her unforgettable breakthrough with Herz an Herz in the mid-1990s, hearing new music from Jasmin Wagner three decades later is a wonderful reminder of how musical connections can survive across generations.
A brand-new entry arrives at #23 as British singer Jamie Miller joins the countdown with Babydoll. At #22, STELLA LEFTY slips eight positions with Boston, while South Korean electronic music producer Peggy Gou and Nigerian singer Ayra Starr move down three places to #21 with Wo,man. At #20, Kimo Sounds climbs one position with Rise Slow, maintaining a steady presence in a chart that embraces everything from intimate pop performances to contemporary electronic productions.
One of this week’s most impressive climbs belongs to Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, whose collaboration Expectations rockets ten positions from #29 to #19. Just above them, Gracie Abrams slips two places to #18 with Hit the Wall, while her other entry, Look At My Life, remains unchanged at #17. Having two songs in consecutive positions once again highlights Gracie’s strong presence among my current favorites. At #16, Swedish duo Långbacka/Bådagård move down five places with Wake Us Up, bringing another distinctive Scandinavian sound to the countdown.
At #15, ADÉLA slips six places with Ain’t In LA after entering the Top 10 last week. Swedish singer Amanda Jenssen follows at #14 with Pretty World, falling seven positions, while another Swedish favorite, Petra Marklund, holds steady at #13 with Mitt Hjärta En Rebell (My Heart Is a Rebel). Amanda Jenssen makes her second appearance at #12 with A 1000 Wildcat’s Cry, down four places. Her remarkable return to music remains particularly special to me, having followed her career since 2007. Just outside the Top 10, fellow Swedish act Crying Day Care Choir climbs one place to #11 with Fuck It I’m A Flower.
The Top 10 opens with one of my favorite Norwegian singer-songwriters. Ane Brun holds steady at #10 with Hold Me, a beautiful demonstration of her expressive vocal style and emotional sensitivity. At #9, rising British talent Sienna Spiro slips three places with Material Lover, while Russian rapper Баста (Basta) and indie-pop group Моя Мишель (Moya Mishel) move down four positions to #8 with Если я буду танцевать (If I Dance). Once again, the countdown reflects my belief that great music transcends language barriers and that fascinating discoveries can come from anywhere in the world.
At #7, American singer-songwriter Ashe moves down four positions with Stop the Wedding!, a former chart-topper that continues to hold a special place among my current favorites. At #6, French producer HUGEL slips one position with Movin’ To The Sun, maintaining its impressive run near the summit. But the biggest surprise is waiting at #5, where Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp joins forces with Ane Brun for a sensational new entry with Eat The Fruit! Two outstanding names from Norway’s music scene come together, giving Ane yet another major presence in this week’s countdown.
And the surprises are far from over! At #4, British pop group Take That makes a spectacular debut with Higher, entering directly into the upper reaches of the chart. It is wonderful to welcome a group with such a rich pop history alongside contemporary discoveries and emerging international performers. At #3, Imael Angel slips one position with Bad Times, following its remarkable rise over the past two weeks. After jumping thirteen places in Week 40 and reaching #2 last week, the song remains a serious contender among my favorite electronic tracks of the moment.
At #2, Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun steps down from the summit with Two in This Story, ending a two-week reign at number one. However, this week’s chart marks another extraordinary achievement for Ane: three songs simultaneously inside the Top 10, with Two in This Story at #2, her collaboration with Röyksopp at #5, and Hold Me at #10. Few artists have made such a strong impression on my recent listening habits. But despite her remarkable presence, a new song has captured my attention and is about to claim the crown.
And finally, what an incredible journey to number one! Climbing an astonishing 18 places from #19 to #1, Icelandic singer ÁSDÍS takes the crown with the deeply moving The Art Of Lettin Go! This song spent three weeks waiting just outside my Top 30 before finally making its debut, but its emotional impact has grown stronger with every listen. Its warm, acoustic textures, nostalgic melodic touches, and heartfelt message about accepting change and learning to let go have made it especially meaningful to me. I first discovered ÁSDÍS through Touch Me, one of my greatest musical favorites of 2024, and now she has captured my heart all over again with a completely different sound. Sometimes a song does more than entertain us: it makes us feel, remember, and reflect. Congratulations to ÁSDÍS on an extraordinary rise to number one! Will this emotional favorite hold on to the crown next week? Join me for another edition of MY TOP 30, exclusively on José Araujo International!
