FOX’s upcoming Grease: Live will feature a new song written for Carly Rae Jepsen.
The E•MO•TION singer-songwriter plays Frenchie, who is the only Pink Lady who doesn’t perform an original number in both the 1971 Broadway production and the 1978 hit film. In the latter, Frankie Avalon sings “Beauty School Dropout” to Frenchie as Teen Angel, and it’s highly likely that Boyz II Men will do the same when they reprise that role for the FOX telecast. So for Frenchie to have not just one, but possibly two songs dedicated to her in a Grease production is an interesting development.
Frenchie’s new song is written by musical supervisor Tom Kitt and Brian Yorker
